The annual Jazz Age Lawn Party celebrated its tenth anniversary in style this weekend, June 13 and 14.

Festivities on Governors Island began on Saturday, where revelers gathered in their vintage attire to relive the 1920s lifestyle. The Gatsby-esque Lawn Party featured retro tunes by organizer, singer and conductor Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra, along with an array of musical guests.

The Lawn Party is sponsored by St-Germain elderflower liqueur and the company’s Camille Vidal was present to help kick off the party.

Among the guests were actor Josh Lucas, Vogue’s Lynn Yaeger and Edward Barsamian and Flatiron Lounge’s cocktail master Julie Reiner.

The day was filled with 20s-inspired fun. Guests wandered the grounds sipping St-Germain cocktails and Martini & Rossi sparkling wine, as old records boomed from antique gramophones. There was also the opportunity to have a vintage-style portrait created at one of the photobooths and an 1920s motorcar exhibition proved to be a highlight.

For those with a sweet tooth, the long-running High Court of Pie contest showcased guests’ culinary expertise, while a Taste of the 20s menu provided more delicious treats.

Of course, no 1920s party would be complete without dancing. The Charleston competition separated the bee’s knees movers from the wet blankets.

For those who missed it, The Jazz Age Lawn Party will return to Governors Island August 15 and 16. Visit the www.jazzagelawnparty.com for more information.
