Joy and happiness was mixed with sweet fumes of exotic teas last Saturday afternoon, as members and alumni gathered to celebrate the The Brotherhood/Sister Sol’s 10th Annual Women’s Holiday Tea event.

As the organization celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, the group of donors and supporters continue to grow, providing more long-term support services to the underserved youth. The big brother/sister programs’ prime focus is on teaching its beneficiaries leadership, educational achievement and social justice. They also go to funding an outlet for the community through fun activities at summer camps.

The board member and host of the evening, Gwynne A. Wilcox, presented a passionate speech, highlighting the organization’s achievements for the year, before cheerful chatter filled the room as members shared stories. The party ended on a festive note, as the winners of the silent auction were announced. Attendees included June Blain-Joseph, Wendell Shepherd, Samantha Dulaney, Carolyn Minick Mason, Dawne Marie Grannum, Dr. Katherine Wilcox, Brenda Dillon, Aisha McShaw, and Tracy Stern.
