The time has come. You know what we mean. It’s officially New York Fashion Week and the city is abuzz with the click-clacking of heels and jangling bangles (or “arm parties” as Avenue fav, Leandra Medine might say). As the city’s chicest took to the streets last night, this insider made her way to Milk Studios for a presentation of jewelry design duo Erickson Beamon’s first foray into ready-to-wear fashions. Heavily inspired by the burlesque of the ’20s and ’30s, models were decked out in period-appropriate garb hand-crafted by Karen Erickson and Vicki Beamon. Yes, we mean hand-crafted as the duo showed off fingers that still showed remnants of the blue dye used to tint the silks and chiffons of their gorgeous gowns and separates.

New York’s hottest new act, The Citizens Band, were on hand to entertain the guests which included fashion mavens like Michelle Harper, “Man Repeller” Leandra Medine, Jenne Lombardo, figure skater and fashion lover Johnny Weir and style guru Tim Blanks. Gossip Guy Penn Badgley showed off a new mop of curls and his latest lady friend Zoe Kravitz as they mingled with the designers and eyed the signature baubles and bling that were strewn about the studio space.
