2013 CFDA Awards

Midnight munching with Vera Wang at the Four Seasons Restaurant, Henry Kissinger’s birthday bash, Swarovski’s get together at the Standard, or Riccardo Tisci’s Givenchy celebrations at Westway? Decisions, Decisions.

On Monday evening, Lincoln Center housed the 2013 Council of Fashion Designers America awards. Hosted by Andy Cohen, guests were giggling and applauding from start to finish. The inspiring night kicked off with Oscar de la Renta accepting the Founders Award from Hillary Clinton, perhaps the night’s most memorable moment.

Audience liveliness was maintained by comical videos preceding award introductions. Vera Wang’s acceptance of the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement award, presented by Ralph Lauren, was yet another unforgettable moment.

Big awards of the night went to Thom Browne for Menswear designer of the Year, Phillip Lim for Accessories Designer of the year, and for the third time in five years Jack MCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler for Womenswear Designer of the Year.

What better way to express your appreciation for the most gifted fashion designers of the year than hosting an after party for them? This was the mindset of numerous attendees. So fess up. Were you uptown or downtown? One things for certain, Hillary Clinton was in quite the rush to get to Henry Kissinger’s birthday bash. Oscar wasn’t too far behind.
