The music of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Bettlejuice, Batman and Edward Scissorhands came to the Lincoln Center last night, July 6, for the opening of a very special concert series.

Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton had a star-studded premier as it began its week of shows. Actors, directors and musicians turned out to support their friend Elfman, including actors Will Chase and Christian Slator, producer Paul Haggis, composer Alan Menken and singer Ingrid Michaelson.

The unique concert features a live orchestra and choir performing Elfman’s famous scores, with a special selection of Burton’s original storyboards, sketches and film clips illustrating the music.

The composer himself got on stage last night to perform the role of Jack Skellington from the cult classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The show will run until July 12. For tickets visit
