This Thanksgiving, be thankful that you don't have to do the dishes! The holiday may be an American tradition, but the joy of sharing in community and giving thanks for friends and family is universal.
On Thursday, Executive Chef Vito Gnazzo of Il Gattopardo and The Leopard at des Artistes invites revelers to a Thanksgiving dinner inspired by the flavors of Italy. He will be preparing Italian feasts at both locations. Both restaurants will, of course, have turkey, tacchino in Italian, which will be filled with chestnuts, breadcrumbs and Itanian sweet sausage, served with both Idaho potatoes and sweet mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce.
Il Gattopardo will also feature the Chef’s mouthwatering holiday favorites, including a homemade ravioli filled with butternut squash, sheep’s milk ricotta, and parmesan cheese, served with walnut and cinnamon sauce; sautéed Sicilian shrimp with braised artichokes, organic frisee and oven-dried cherry tomatoes; and desserts such as Pumpkin Pie with maple gelato and caramel sauce. Thanksgiving lunch will be serve from noon until 3 p.m.; and dinner will be served from 5–10 p.m. Enjoy dining in the atrium of the Rockefeller Townhouses, which were renovated in 2001.
At Leopard at des Artistes, Chef Vito will showcase his signature authentic southern Italian comfort food. His Thanksgiving menu will include Thanksgiving crab cake with arrabiata sauce and wild greens, a wild mushroom and Italian hazelnut risotto, and broiled Dover sole, braised escarole, Gaeta olives and raisins. The Thanksgiving meal will be served continuously from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. Leopard at des Artistes is located inside the Hotel des Artistes, a New York landmark.
