A Very Fond Farewell to D&G

Thursday, September 22, 2011

After a stunning presentation today in Milan of their Spring 2012 D&G collection, Dolce & Gabbana announced that it would be the last showing for the diffusion line. The designers will be incorporating the aesthetic of D&G into their signature line in an effort to boost sales and continue to provide their clients with the very best in Italian design.

Thankfully for us, the final collection featured all of the elements fans have come to expect and admire from the pairs’ extension. Scarf-like silks were transformed into stunningly loud blouses and pants, skirts and dresses that screamed of luxurious holidays spent sunning and sipping cocktails on a yacht in St. Tropez. Though we’ll miss the slightly (emphasis on SLIGHTLY) more pocketbook-friendly fodder, AvenueInsider is excited to see how the design team has in store for us in the future. RIP D&G. It was great knowing you.
