On March 14, the School of American Ballet hosted their annual glamorous, black-tie dinner and dance gala that raised almost $1.2 million at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater.

For the ninth consecutive year, the iconic French jewelry house, Van Cleef & Arpels sponsored the elegant event. Guests were invited to begin the evening with cocktails and dinner, followed by a student dance performance choreographed by Peter Walker especially for the occasion. After the dance performances, visitors were treated to dessert and dancing of their own.

Designed by Ron Wendt, this year’s décor was inspired by the emerald greens of the Northern Lights, with the sparkle of pine green sequin table cloths adding dazzle to the magical evening. Guests surrounded by candlelight and white azaleas, were astonished by the fifteen-foot tall gold and silver mobiles suspended above the dinner tables, which made the David H. Koch Theater look like the magical land of aurora borealis.

This year’s dazzling dinner dance was attended by 500 patrons, including the School’s board members and alumni as well as leaders from the New York corporate and social communities. Some of the notable attendees included: Joyce C. Giuffra (Chairman), Julia Koch (Chairman), Serena Lese (Chairman), Noreen K. Ahmad, Amanda Brotman Schetritt, Peter Martins, Darci Kistler, Caroline Lagerfelt, Fe Fendi, and many more.

The proceeds from the event will enhance the School’s world-class ballet training program, helping to provide $2 million annually in student scholarships, as well as supporting faculty, maintaining world-class studios, and offering dance student programs beyond the classroom.
