Is the new movie Incredibles 2 just for kids? According to guests at the Southampton Arts Center’s Cinema Society Screening and reception, the answer was a resounding ‘no’. Granted, families reigned at the event, but many solo sophisticates, including artist Brian Farrell, were happy to attend, sans squirts.

Actress and model Isabella Rossellini, who, at 65 is the face of Lancôme’s Rénergie Multi-Glow cream, hosted the affair on Sunday, June 10. She plays a small role in the film—“an Ambassador who mostly just screams,” she says—but quite a prominent one in ensuring that the skincare industry continues to provide products for women of all ages. “I’ve become fascinated with beauty marketing and believe we are the consumers,” Rossellini says, confiding that she looks forward to Lancôme’s years-end sales numbers validating her claim.

The film’s numbers will doubtlessly be great, too, as fans have been waiting 14 years for the sequel to the first Incredibles film, which won an Oscar and raked in $633 million worldwide.

Parents and kids munched on Melissa’s Incredibles-themed cupcakes, artisanal ices by People’s Pop, and the always crowd-pleasing morsels by Sant Ambroeus. Sated cinephiles included: Jeff Sharp and son Jack (who, after starring in his St. Bernard’s School play, wants to become an actor), Mary Snow, Roberto Rossellini (Isabella’s son, who also models), David Post and Katlean De Monchy, Adam Dell, David Schulhof, David and Cynthia Wassong, Southampton Arts Center’s founder Simone Levinson, Gustaf Demarchelier, Whitney Fairchild, and Sasha Pivovarova.
