And The Award Goes To…Hamish Bowles

Wednesday, January 5, 2011

We know how to pick ’em. Our December cover star, Vogue’s European Editor at Large (and museum curator/international style icon) Hamish Bowles is receiving the 2011 Pratt Institute Fashion Icon Award at the school’s annual fashion runway show on April 27th at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Past recipients of the award include Diane Von Furstenberg, Ralph Rucci and Narciso Rodriguez.

The Pratt show will feature work from a select group of graduating seniors (attention editors: future fashion stars galore). We can’t wait to see what Bowles will wear that night!

FYI: the amazing show Bowles curated – “Balenciaga: Spanish Master” is up at the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute on Park Avenue until February 19th and is a must-see.

“I am delighted that Pratt Institute has decided to honor me with this award, and to be joining such a distinguished pantheon of past recipients,” says Bowles. “It means a great deal to me to be celebrated in this way by a fashion faculty that is thronged by such lively and inspired talents.”
