The Style monde is blogging and tweeting and yapping in overdrive over the announcement today that the inimitable, highly influential, super chic Carine Roitfeld, the Editor of French Vogue for the past ten years, is resigning. Roitfeld, a former model and stylist, transformed French Vogue into one of the most daring fashion publications on the planet. Her last issue will be April, and, naturally, fashion freaks are playing the who will replace Carine guessing game. Stylish Emmanuelle AltFrench Vogue‘s fashion director for the past 10 years seems the likely choice, but no decision will be made for a few weeks. Let the bets begin!

“It’s 10 years that I’m editor of the magazine, I think it’s time to do something different,” Roitfeld, 55, told Cathy Horyn of the New York Times. “When everything is good, maybe I think it’s the time to do something else.”

Roitfeld hasn’t announced her next move, but we would love it if she would design clothes, make a movie or just stay in the style spotlight, so we can drool over her always d-vine outfits. Her style is already iconic, so enjoy this gallery of gorgeousness and glam that is all about Carine.
