The Women’s Committee of the Central Park Conservancy is celebrating its 35th anniversary–as chronicled in our October Power Elite issue. So AVENUE celebrated the committee and our A-List at a “Hats off to the Power Elite” cocktail party last night in the triplex penthouse of 44 West 77th Street, an historic artist’s studio building overlooking the American Museum of Natural History.

The apartment that served as the party’s venue has been home to the likes of best-selling author Erica Jong and fashion’s Dianne Benson and her late husband Irving.

Intrepid A-List New Yorkers braving the rain to celebrate the park’s enduring hat lunch, quaff Vie Vite wines and see this perfect example of the surreal estate AVENUE is obsessed with included Gillian and Sylvester Miniter and Marcia Mishaan, who arrived early, and Richard Mishaan, who came late and missed his wife, but not the spectacular views from the apartments multiple terraces.

Also in the house were Eleanora Kennedy, wearing a button reading It’s Mueller Time, Women’s Committee president Suzie Aijala, economic philosopher H. Woody Brock, painter Donald Sultan with Ellen Lewis, Don and Katrina Peebles, Emma Snowden Jones, Bonnie Pfiefer Evans, Monica Jennifer Kapoor, Robert Winthrop “Roy” Kean III, Paul Lerner, Wendy Diamond, Ben Widdicombe, R. Couri Hay, Norah Lawlor, Janna Bullock, Pamela Taylor, Shari Rollins and broker Monica Luque‘s team from Douglas Elliman, which has the apartment listing.

Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours co-hosted the evening and generously made a donation to the Central Park Conservancy on behalf of all of the guests. Guests went home with cookies and treats from Bistro Chat Noir. Music was provided by Allen Dalton Entertainment and DJ Super Dave and nibbles came from Sydney’s Taylor Made Cuisine.
