The 2016 Emmy’s took place last night, and while stars were thrilled to be nominated for Emmy gold, the other contest is whose fashion choices dominated the red carpet. As always, the red caret has its hits and misses, but here are the ladies who showed us how to own one of TV’s biggest nights in style.

Constance Zimmer was pretty in pink last night in this beautiful number my Monique Lhuillier. The whimsical embroidery on this dress along with the pink clutch, also by Monique Lhuillier, gave us a lesson in how to accessorize well.

Angela Bassett taught us how to wear yellow without looking like Big Bird, and remind everyone you are a living screen icon. This dress by Christian Siriano was a head turner on the red carpet, and made her one of the most mentioned names of the night on social media.

Emilia Clarke accentuated her petite frame well, and kept it classy and chic in this dress from Atelier Versace. Sometimes you can make a statement with understated looks, as she displays here.

Tracee Ellis Ross looks like an angel who descended from heaven to bless us all with the gift of style in this dress by Ralph Lauren. For the finishing touches, she added De Grisogono jewelry to take this look up a notch and take our breath away.

Claire Danes is a golden goddess in this sequined gold number by Schiaparelli. The detailing on this dress alone was enough to practically stop the show.

How can you take your eyes off of Kristen Bell in this gorgeous number by Zuhair Murad. The printed detailing on this dress alone would have you watching her for her entire walk down the red carpet.

Do you know who else was having their moment on the red carpet last night? The color pink. Viola Davis was the other lady of the night looking amazing in this pink dress by Marchesa. The detailing on the bodice of the dress is what really gets your eye.

In addition to taking home an Emmy win for American Crime Story,  Sarah Paulson was also a red carpet winner in this embellished green dress by Prada. This unique number was worthy of a woman who finally got to take home the gold last night after five Emmy nominations.

Pulling off a red dress on the red carpet can be a challenge, but Priyanka Chopra took that challenge on and owned it. Chopra stunned in this beautiful, voluminous red gown by Jason Wu. If Wu is looking for a new muse, he might want to give her a call.

Felicity Huffman’s fawn colored gown with lace and tulle details was fairytale worthy. The dress is the work of designer Tony Ward, who knows how to give all the perfect feminine touches to a dress as displayed here with this fantasy-like number.
