b Michael AMERICA debuted yet another beautiful show on Tuesday, September 15, during New York Fashion week. Held at the historic Harlem Stage, the collection—a blend of uptown glamour and downtown whimsy—was filled with poppy colored cocktail dresses, trapeze boleros over v-neck sheaths, printed blazers, and box pleat ball gowns.

The visionary pieces perfectly complemented the romantic backdrop of the stage, which was decked out with an arch of softly glowing tiles. Designer B Michael and CEO Mark-Anthony Edwards saluted the loving memory of actress, poet, and playwright, E’dena Hines, and to SonEdna, a non-profit organization (celebrating the literary arts and writers) in which she served as a founding board member.

Front row fixtures of the show included Ashford & Simpson’s Valerie SimpsonHenni Kessler, Tamara Tunie, Phylicia Rashad, and Karen Phillips, among others. Season after season, B Michael has been sharing not only his striking designs, but also his philanthropic support to a wealth of organizations to educate and empower the youth. We can’t wait to see what’s next in store from the accomplished designer.
