Baccarat Celebrates Milestone with Exclusive Flagship Unveiling

In 2014, Baccarat will celebrate 250 years of heritage, and on Wednesday evening, the French luxury crystal company unveiled its blueprint for the future with its new, 2800 square foot store designed by architect and designer Rafael de Cardenas. Cameron SilverCeCe Cord, Fern Mallis, Mario Buatta, Jamee Gregory, actress Radha Mitchell, Somers Farkas, and Geoffrey Bradfield were among the notables who sipped on champagne from Chateau Baccarat Champagne Flutes and toasted the flagship concept store at the exclusive event – curated by world-famous event designer and tastemaker extraordinaire Colin Cowie.

All were impressed with the store’s distinctive contemporary design – most notably the double height entry way decorated with a 24-light black Zenith chandelier and black granite floors – that will serve as a new global retail model for the brand.  “Furthering Baccarat’s commitment to being at the forefront of innovative design, our partnership with Rafael is an exciting and bold choice for this storied brand. Rafael’s brilliant execution of our vision for the future of the Baccarat retail experience is a new look we are thrilled to unveil,” said Michelle Klein, President and CEO of Baccarat North America. Echoed Cardenas, “It is an honor to work with such a venerated brand as Baccarat and help herald its retail experience to a new level of modernity.”

As part of this new global strategy, Baccarat plans to open a slate of hotels around the world, including one in New York next year. Stay tuned!
