Simon Kneen’s Fall Holiday 2012 collection for Banana Republic was a study in contrasts. Urban chic juxtaposed with country charm; ladylike leather satchels paired with tough metal-tipped pumps; classic trenches and wool capes finished off with leather piping and gold hardware. Luxe accent pieces – like faux fur and cashmere – made everyday black separates suitable for a night out on the town.

The men’s collection likewise embodied the city-meets-country theme, with suits that were slimmer cut than usual of tweed, herringbone, and heritage plaid. Kneen’s collection speaks to the men and women with luxurious yet refined tastes, who have serious careers but who socialize and travel just as seriously. In this multi-tasking age where men and women often have many trades, these looks serve that function perfectly.
