Yesterday afternoon Banana Republic hosted their holiday 2014 preview at one of their New York City locations. The preview featured collections for men and women.

Banana Republic is one of the brands owned by Gap, Inc. It was founded in 1978 and taken over by Gap in 1983. It began its regime as a safari outfitter in San Francisco.

The brand has been deemed the true outfitter of modern American style. Since its safari outfitter days, the brand has experienced a fresh new twist on classic apparel for men and women around the world. It now appeals to a whole new generation who walk the fine line between easy and refined.

Over the years, Banana Republic has developed a very loyal fan base. Some of these fans attended the preview to show their support. These people included acting head of women’s design Melloney Birkett, editor-in-chief of Lucky magazine Eva ChenMichael Anderson, Catherine Sadler, Tara McCollum and Janelle Wiggins.
