Behind the Scenes w/ Janie Bryant for Banana Republic

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

We are simply mad for Banana Republic’s Fall 2011 capsule collection that was inspired by TV phenomenon Mad Men. Costume designer behind the amazing looks of Joan, Betty and Don Draper (actually, the whole cast), Janie Bryant, teamed up with BR’s Creative Director Simon Kneen to create a collection that emulates the 60s-inspired, 65-piece collection. Perfectly retro-chic.

The collection is available tomorrow but here are some of the behind-the-scenes pics from the lookbook shoot from a few months back. Who knows if the AMC hit show can take credit for bringing back skinny ties and bow ties, silk tie-neck blouses, ladylike sheath dresses and high-waisted A-line skirts…but we are sure glad they’re back.
