The March issue of AVENUE features our seriously selective list of the 39 Best Dressed Women in New York. Here is just one of the 39…keep coming back to see who else made the cut!

Annette de la Renta: Empress Of Elegance

Understated and elegant and atop one of New York’s most prominent fashion dynasties, Annette de la Renta is the city’s own first lady. Not one to talk about style—her passions lie elsewhere—she simply exudes it. She sits on the boards of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York Public Library, Rockefeller University and the Morgan Library, and became the guardian of the late social doyenne Brooke Astor. Besuited or bejeweled, or just the right combination of both, she is the perfect complement to husband Oscar de la Renta, the favorite designer for many a first lady.
