Last week, the Milanese institution Bice Cucina returned to mid-town, reintroducing itself with a lively cocktail soiree and a small dinner at its new indoor-outdoor location at the base of a West 55th Street office tower.  Just up the street from such favorites as Michael’s and Benoit, it’s turned the block into midtown’s latest restaurant row.

Co-owner Peter Guimaraes and his partners have re-launched the restaurant, a landmark on Milan’s Via Borgospesso since 1939, which first opened in New York in 1987. There are now Bices all around the world–and once again in New York.

Guests, including Alvin Valley, Ann Dexter-Jones, author Faleena Hopkins, Janna Bullock, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Lauren Day Roberts, Laurie Durning, Patty Raynes, Liliana Cavendish, Serena Altschul, and Tom D’Agostino Jr., enjoyed a performance from Grammy nominated singer Billy Gilman.
