If you’re like me and all things space peak your interest, then you need to mark your calendars insiders. August 22-24 is Uluru Astronomy Weekend.

A partnership between Ayers Rock Resort in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and the Center of Excellence for All-sky Astrophysics (CAASTRO) brings you this learning yet fun-filled weekend. Dr. Karl Kruszelnicki, a wildly popular science personality, will serve as the weekend’s host.

The weekend is all about celebrating the beauty of the vast outback in Northern Australia, especially the night sky. Attendees will be able to soak it all in from the best vantage point in the world-Australia’s Red Centre.

As if stargazing and breathtaking outback skies aren’t enough to reel you in, here are some other event highlights for the weekend. “Stellar Sounds of Silence” will be a dining experience like you’ve never had before followed by an aperitif and guided tour of the magnificent outback sky with none other than Dr. Karl.

Guests will be able to attend the Galaxy Star Ball and I know how all you insiders like to summon the glitterati and party until the sun comes up. The ball will be a Studio 54-inspired evening held at the Uluru Meeting Place. Again, Dr. Karl will lead you on a night of space-tacular entertainment in your best dresses.

There will also be engaging discussions on astro-statistics and the structure of the cosmos with some of the world’s leading experts and hands on intro astronomy activities for families, as well as a satellite marketplace.

With a great weekend comes a great offer. The movers and shakers behind Uluru Astronomy Weekend want guests to be able to fully appreciate and see all there is in the beautiful outback so they’ve arranged “Stay Three Nights and Save.” With this package, rates start at $356 per person, twin share including breakfast buffet daily, free Indigenous guest activities and return Ayers Rock Airport hotel transfers. Oh, and children 15 years and under stay for free.

Don’t waste another minute insiders, book your stay now! You won’t want to miss this.
