Seth Meyers teamed up with The Orchard and The Cinema Society to bring a pioneering new documentary to the Tribeca Grand Hotel last night, June 25.

Cartel Land, by Matthew Heineman and produced by the Hurt Locker’s Kathryn Bigelow, follows two vigilante groups, one in the US and one in Mexico, as they take on the Mexican drug Cartel. This immersive documentary provides unprecedented access to the ongoing war on drugs and the lives of those involved.

The groundbreaking film has already racked up several awards, including Cinematography and Directing awards at Sundance.

Meyers and his wife, Alexi Ashe, hosted a showing of Cartel Land, followed by a stylish after party where guests got to mingle with the director.

Many of New York’s acting set turned out to support the event. Guests included Gina Gershon, Ricky Paull Goldin, Nichole Galicia, Greg Bello, Sami Gayle, journalist Katie Couric and designer Gilles Mendel.

Cartel Land opens at the Lincoln Plaza July 3.
