CIRCA Insights: Iconic Jewelry—David Webb

by CIRCA
Wednesday, November 30, 2011

David Webb’s iconic jewelry has adorned the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Vreeland since the late 1940’s. Known for his creative animal-themed designs, like this hippo bangle, his pieces continue to be some of the most sought-after for collectors and jewelry enthusiasts alike.

Unlike Webb’s typical animal-inspired creations, this Hippo is not made of enamel, but instead of beautiful gold relief with cabochon ruby eyes.

With the current trend of bold 1960’s statement pieces in yellow gold, bangles like this one are very much in demand.
