It’s the perfect fusion of art, fashion, design and society—the Annual Watermill Summer Benefit celebrated its 22nd year on Saturday, July 25.

This year’s theme was Circus of Stillness… the power over wild beasts, and featured stunning installations and performances from participants in the Watermill International Summer Program.

The evening’s highlights included an auction of over 125 lots from both world-renowned and up-and-coming artists, presented by Simon de Pury.

Then guests watched in awe as Swedish circus- and future residents at the Watermill—Cirkus Cirkor performed their mesmerizing act.

Honored at this year’s gala was philanthropist Ingrid Maren Otto, who has been involved with the Watermill Center for many years.

The Summer Benefit raised over $1.9 million, which will support year-round artist residency programs at the venue.

Among the many prestigious guests at the gala were Brooke Shields, Fern Mallis, Public School’s Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright and artists Daniel Arsham and Nadya Tolokonnikova.
