You’ve probably heard how every overly Googled celebrity like Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga and Alicia Keys have decided to go on a digital hunger strike or “digital death,” meaning they won’t use Twitter or Facebook until a million dollars is raised for the charity Keep a Child Alive, which supports AIDS/HIV prevention and education. No tweets from Timberlake? How will we survive?

Honestly, it’s all for a good cause. And at AvenueInsider we were happily surprised to see that our style obsession, the d-vine Daphne Guinness, is also turning off her Blackberry until the million bucks is raised. Yet we still question whether “TheRealDaphne” on Twitter (she only follows 5 people – Franca Sozzani of Vogue Italia, Karl Lagerfeld and BlackBerryHelp are three) and has just 972 followers herself is actually the brewery heiress/fashion icon. Hmmm.

“TheRealDaphne” last tweeted on November 30th (the digital death campaign started on December 1st, World AIDS Day): “Someone just told me I am a socialite! If only! I did not know that was a term anymore!” That somehow doesn’t sound very Daphne-like, but the beauty posing in the cyber-coffin is definitely the wild-style daredevil we adore. Stay tuned.
