Dance the night away! Monday evening marked the American Ballet Theatre’s 2016 Spring Gala at the Metropolitan Opera House.

The star-studded fete gathered a bevy of notable names who walked the red carpet dressed in their finest black tie attire. The event featured a gala performance with excerpts from Sylvia, La Fille mal gardée and The Sleeping Beauty. In addition, beloved dancer Alessandra Ferri returned to the stage for an exclusive performance of Pie Jesu from MacMillan’s Requiem. ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky debuted his world premiere ballet set to Bernstein’s Serenade After Plato’s Symposium and ABT Principle Dancer Misty Copeland stunned in a performance of the new ballet Firebird.

Guests then made their way to The Promenade at the David H. Koch Theatre for dinner and dancing. The Honorary Chair of the evening was Mrs. Michelle Obama and gala chairs included Pamela Ford, Mary Elizabeth Snow, Sutton Stracke and Caryn Zucker. Altogether, the elegant event raised $1.7 million; a portion of the proceeds went to support the ABT’s award-winning education and community outreach programs.
