Hermès fine jewelry creative director Pierre Hardy has added some iconic faces to the Haute Bijouterie canon – Kelly, Birkin, and Nausicaa. This second installment of the fine jewelry collection (which debuted with 14 pieces in 2010) was unveiled at an intimate cocktail fete on Thursday evening that also celebrated the Madison Avenue flagship’s Alice in Wonderland inspired holiday windows.

Guests rode the elevator up to the store’s 4th floor to admire the total of 49 pieces on display, while jewelry managing director Laurence Reulet – who flew in from Paris for the occasion – explained the history and craftsmanship of each piece.

The evening also marked the debut of a new bag created by Hardy, the Chaine d’Ancre, made from diamond-encrusted white gold links and weighing in at 86.24 carats and totaling 11,303 diamonds.  As for the other rose gold, white and brown diamond sac-bijoux: the Kelly totals 1,160 diamonds, the Birkin 2,712, and the Nausicaa 1,811.  Despite the ultra-haute price tag, the Kelly and Birkin are already sold out.  The  installment – which also includes rose-gold and diamond buckle cuffs and diamond and gold “collier de chien” bangles – remains on display at the UES flagship through December 8
