Dinner Party Time! No. 8 Unveils its Warm Weather Delights

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

“Angry” lobster tacos? Watermelon martinis? Spring may barely have sprung, but it is none too soon for the culinary wizards of our fair city to start prepping their summer menus. And so it was last Thursday, when Chef Anthony Russo of LDV Hospitality’s No. 8, along with proprietress Amy Sacco, hosted an intimate dinner party to usher in the summer months. On the menu? The aforementioned lobster; moroccan glazed crispy chicken with a sweet yogurt dipping sauce; refreshing ahi tuna tartar with whipped avocado; and Amy’s signature grilled cheese, complete with heirloom tomato bisque. A tasting is never complete without dessert, natch, and the chef’s choice was a pure crowd pleaser in that regard: beignet-like fried oreos with a chocolate dipping sauce. The generous dose of sugar came in handy, as most of the guests lingered well past dinner time to mix and mingle with the late night glitteratti for a pre-Easter weekend rally.
