Last night, The Cinema Society & The New York Comedy Festival, with DKNY Jeans, hosted a screening of “Due Date.” Zach Galifianakis sprinkled popcorn as he and Robert Downey Jr. walked down the aisle to introduce the movie and my night was off to a great start. Robert even smooched his wife Susan on the red carpet. The movie was hysterical (Zach, be my friend; Robert, be my husband) and the perfect way to kick off the New York Comedy Festival, which goes from Nov. 3-7.

Between belly laughs I spotted Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (both in all black, both still my girl-crushes), Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Fern Mallis and Stephen Baldwin before heading to the after party at Lavo. Guests drank Woodbridge Brut Sparkling Wine and munched on mozzarella, tomato and basil lollipops, thin crust pizza and tuna tartar. Seated at the booth in front of me was Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20, where have you been!?) and next to me, Russell Simmons (who chatted it up with Courtney Love, looking more and more like a lady who lunches – on Madison Avenue). Later in the night I spoke to the ever-pleasant and oh-so-sweet Rachel Roy, who introduced me to her “best friend in the world” Drena de Niro (yes, as in Robert’s daughter) and Iman. Rachel and Drena told me they would go on a road trip with Galifianakis and Downey Jr. if and only if, it was the four of them—how fun does that sound? I’m sure the guys would not be opposed…

Along with Cinema Society Founder Andrew Saffir (who assured me he’d absolutely do a road trip with the “Due Date” duo) and New York Comedy Festival Founders Caroline Hirsch & Andrew Fox, other notable names who attended were Todd Phillips (director), Darren Aronofsky, John Mayer, Patrick Stewart, Debbie Harry, Paulina Porizkova (who arrived via motorcycle), Justin Bartha (Ashley Olsen’s boyfriend), Stephen Baldwin, Perrey, Anthony Mackie, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Alison Pill, Ari Graynor, Maria Sharapova, Albert Hammond Jr. (The Strokes), Kelly Bensimon, Narciso Rodriguez, Alexandra & Theodora Richards, Dennis Basso, Jessica White, Aussie model Nicole Trunfio, Thom Filicia, CNN’s Alina Cho, Drew Nieporent, Dan Abrams, Rosanna Scotto, Duncan Sheik, camera-shy Stavros Niarchos, Cameron Winklevoss, Daniel Benedict, Tyson Ballou, Johannes Huebl, Sean Avery, John Demsey, Renee Rockefeller, Carlos Souza, Scott Lipps, Marina Rust Connor and Irina Pantaeva.
