It's not enough for fashion bloggers to just write and Instagram their head-to-toe designer outfits anymore. In the ever competitive digital age, they have to stand out. That's why Leandra Medine, founder of Man Repeller, has decided to launch her own shoe collection, which is now available on Net-a-Porter.
Medine is no strange to designer collaborations. In the past she has worked with brands such as Veda, Atea Oceanie and PJK for limited-edition capsule collections. She has an impressive 1.5 million Instagram followers. Given the amount of times her shoe collection has been photographed, it's no surprise that she would start building her designer brand with shoes. Eat your heart out, Carrie Bradshaw. Someone has taken your crown for most enviable shoe closet.
Her new collection includes very original styles such as velvet embossed flats in red, metallic leather loafers and metallic leathered trimmed embossed velvet boots in bubblegum pink. The silhouettes are also given very funny and catchy names like the "Lol If You Think I'm Walking" embellished velvet platform sandals and the "I'm Here to Party" metallic leather boots.
The collection is also fondly titled MR, the initials for her signature blog handle that have made her the household name she is today (well, the households for the fashion obsessed.) A quick trip over to Net-a-porter.com earlier today revealed that someone already had the "I'm Here to Party" metallic leather-trimmed boots in their bag. Clearly, they are already flying off of the shelves.
