El Museo Toasts New Director

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

On Thursday evening, El Museo del Barrio’s Board of Directors and Junior Council welcomed an intimate group of friends and supporters for cocktails to toast the museum’s newly-appointed Executive Director, Jorge Daniel Veneciano. Held at Junior Council member Jerome Levy’s SoHo loft, the event drew long standing El Museo devotees the likes of Yaz Hernandez, Clay Floren, and Junior Council chair and recent board appointee Christine Miller Martin. Cuban singer Cucu Diamantes also made an appearance.

Hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Acquolina were prepared on premises in the sleek open kitchen, whilst Mezcal and La Cetto wine lent an additional dose of Latino flavor. The chic yet homey gathering also served as a kick-off of sorts for El Museo’s annual gala, well known in philanthropic circles as the last major charity event of the social season. The date for the event this year is May 21st, once again at Cipriani 42nd Street. For more information and to buy tickets, please visit
