Elephants Forever Auction

Yesterday was a big deal for the biggest creatures on earth! Over $1 million was raised for Elephant Family and Space for Giants, charities dedicated to the preservation of the world’s elephants. Held on the heel’s of last week’s Elephants Forever Exhibition, the auction was hosted by Owen Wilson and attended by a number of New York notables and philanthropy leaders.

Held at Sotheby’s, a number of unique, one-of-a-kind works by contemporary artists were auctioned off the to highest bidder. The biggest bid of the night was $300,000 for Marc Quinn‘s The Toxic Sublime.

Every single dollar made at the auction, which was held in partnership with Maclaren, goes directly to the non-profits.

Attendees included Elephant Family leaders Lexi Bowes-Lyon and Ruth Powys, Princess Beatrice of York, Bob Colacello, Waris Ahluwalia, Alexander Gilkes, and Lynn Forester de Rothschild.
