Some Enchanted Evening with Alice + Olivia

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

It doesn’t take much to lure celebrities to an Alice + Olivia event. But that doesn’t mean Stacey Bendet is content to rest on her laurels with a run of the mill fashion presentation. Indeed, for Fall 2014, the designer known for her trademark whimsical flair unveiled her collection at the McKittrick Hotel, best known for the interactive play “Sleep no More.”

Bendet used the venue to tell her own fairytale – inspired by the pop-up children’s books of Benjamin Lacombe. Equal parts Shakespearean, Victorian, and seventies chic, her collection featured ruffled lace blouses, brocades, jacquards, and a generous helping of fur, along with her signature knits and high-waist pants.

And the loyal Alice + Olivia celebrities and socials were out in full force, as expected: Lydia Hearst, Anna Kendrick, Nicky and Paris Hilton, Amy Fine Collins, Zosia Mamet, Bella Thorne, Sami Gayle, former Disney CEO Michael Eisner, and Anna Sophia Robb, who had walked the Red Heart Truth Collection runway show in an Alice + Olivia confection a few days earlier.
