Coco Rocha, Selita Ebanks, Minnie Driver, Annelise Peterson, Daniel Wingate and many other fashion insiders gathered on Tuesday, February 3rd to celebrate the new Escada meets Thilo Westermann collection. The dinner, hosted by both Escada and Saks Fifth Avenue at Isola at the Mondrian Hotel in Soho, and collection are the next step in a well-publicized resurgence for both companies.

Both companies have undergone a change in leadership, a British invasion of sorts, with Londoner Megha Mittal purchasing Escada in 2009 after it filed for bankruptcy and pulling a huge turnover on management level, which is slowly helping Escada re-associate with the glamorous image it had in the ’80s and ’90s. However, it still has a long way to go.

Similarly Saks President Marigay Mckee, another British girl, came into Saks in 2014, after a huge success at Harrods, to create that same magic at the ailing department store.

Escada tends to stay out of the fashion frenzy, choosing to never debut its collections during Fashion Week. However, this event, a week before the frenzy descends celebrated Escada’s takeover of six center windows at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship store, featuring the German brand’s capsule collection and collaboration with German artist Thilo Westermann. The clothing is now available at the department store.
