Last night, quilted handbags and tweed jackets were not the focus at Chanel’s 57th Street location—Jill Kargman was. Kargman hosted a cocktail party and book signing to celebrate her new (and hilarious) book “Sometimes I Feel Like a Nut”.

In true form, Kargman was running around the 3rd floor of the boutique (kids not far behind) greeting friends and supporters with a huge smile. Kargman is a wife, mother and writer, juggling 3 kids in New York City and somehow remains down-to-Earth and undeniably funny.

Kargman says that writing the book came naturally, “I could seriously do like seven more because there are so many insane things that happen to me.” For example, a sitter who moonlit as a Playboy bunny. Yikes!

Kargman also told me that she surrounds herself with funny people—“All my best girl friends are funny! Some have a drier sense of humor and are less hammy than moi, but all are super hilarious.” And as you would guess, she says her kids are also a riot. You can find her daughter Sadie’s jokes in the back of her book (but last night, she was getting pampered on the 1st floor, lucky).

Guests of Kargman’s included Alexandra Lebenthal, Tom Gold, Linda Bicks, Andrew Saffir, Arie Kopelman, Daniel Benedict, Gillian and Sylvester Miniter, Coco Kopelman, Rory Tahari, Sasha Galantic, Jonathan and Lizzie Tisch, Lauren Duff, Vanessa Eastman, Melissa Berkelhammer, Michele Gerber Klein, Nancy Jarecki, Shirin von Wulffen, Meredith Melling Burke (with adorable daughter Eloise) and Shoshanna Gruss.
