As one of the top global fashion capitols of the world, New York City really loves to be in style.

So on Friday, July 21, The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) trustee Joan Horning held a dinner event at her home in Water Mill to celebrate the accomplishments of the college of art and business. The dinner, through showcases, highlighted many different student works in shoes, accessories, toy design, jewelry and interior design. Dr. Joyce F. Brown, the FIT President, greeted the guests with discussion of different opportunities within FIT. Prior to the dinner, visitors were able to attend the director and chief curator of The Museum at FIT Valerie Steele’s talk at the Parrish Art Museum.

Among the guests were Martin and Audrey Grusswho was featured in AVENUE‘s July cover, Fern Mallis, Emme Aronson, Terrie Sultan, Essie Weingarten, Jeffrey and Liz Peek, Othon and Kathy Prounis, Helen Marx, Sabi and Mona Kanaan, Sharon Jacob, Yaz Hernandez, Karen and Dennis Meel, Joan Steinberg, Laura Nicklas, Jean and Martin Shafiroff, Mickey Ateyeh and Richard Anderman.
