All eyes were on Peter Duchin, the renowned pianist, bandleader, arts advocate and honoree of the evening on Tuesday, September 29, at the FRIENDS of the Upper East Side Historic Districts’ 12th Annual Award Dinner.

Held at the Metropolitan Club, the event presented Duchin with the Ambassador to the Upper East Side Award for his continued support of the organization’s goal to preserve the architectural legacy and livability of the Upper East Side.

More than 250 guests attended the event, which included cocktails, dinner and the premiere of a short film celebrating the neighborhood’s diversity, growth, and future plans. The dinner raised $260,000 (more than double of its original fundraising goal) to benefit the organization. A successful evening indeed!

The FRIENDS of the Upper East Side Historic Districts event chairs included Philip and Alexandra Howard. Vice chairs included O. Kelley and Brenda Anderson, Kent Barwick, Tony Kiser and Lisa Atkin, William and Katharine Rayner. Dinner guests in attendance were Peter DuchinElizabeth Borden, Henry Breck, Richard Feigen, Sherwin Goldman, Duane Hampton, Maisie Houghton, Thomas Jayne, Wendy Vanderbilt Lehman, Robert Liberman, Richard Miller, David Mortimer, Gordon Pattee, Emily Rafferty, Stanley Shuman, and Jacqueline Weld Drake.
