Last night the famed Galerie Perrotin had an opening reception for its new exhibition Chronochrome by Jesus Rafael Soto. The double exhibit, held simultaneously in the Galerie’s Paris and New York locations, runs from January 15th to February 21st and presents about fifty of the late artist’s works created between 1957 and 2003 and taken from private collections and institutions.

The exhibition celebrates the kinetic exploration of the monochrome in Soto’s work, where color leaves the support of the surface and plays with the perception of real space and time.

Emmanuel Perrotin, the gallery owner that launched the careers of Damien Hirst and Takashi Murakami, was present as well as a group of art-world insiders including Magdalena Moskalewicz, Matthieu Poirier, Daniel Arsham, Luis Benshimol and Catherine Nguyen.
