Winter’s extreme temperatures — coupled with the stress of prepping for the holidays — can spell disaster for your dermis.

Lucky for you, celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas — beauty guru to A-listers like Sofia CoppolaKarlie KlossEmma StoneRachel WeiszNaomi Watts, and Michelle Williams — is offering a rare opportunity to gain valuable insight on how to keep your skin radiant and protected from this season’s harsh elements, at a splendid two-day affair that will showcase Joanna’s spectacular line of all natural skincare products.

The event will be held at the New London Pharmacy (246 Eighth Avenue) from 4 to 7 pm on December 20th, and at the Butterfly Studio (149 Fifth Avenue, #2) from noon to 6 pm the following day.

The renowned esthetician will be in the flesh to grant personal consultations to attendees. She will also provide guests with complimentary mini treatments, such as her signature Triple Crown Facial (a luxe, three-step treatment that promises to restore your skin’s youth and radiance, no matter what you’re age!).

Don’t miss an occasion sure to leave your mind and body relaxed, and your skin simply glowing.

Can’t make the event? See below for some exclusive tips from Joanna on how to keep your delicate outer shell healthy during the long wintry months!

Joanna’s Tips for Radiant Skin All Winter Long:

1. Sleep with a humidifier.

Cold, brisk air can be terribly drying when you’re running around outside, but even worse for your skin are the overheated, indoor environments you spend the most time in, such as your home — particularly, where you sleep.

If your bedroom is super dry and sweltering, you’re probably suffering from unnecessary dehydration. Placing a humidifier on your nightstand will provide instant moisture for your skin to absorb, also giving it a chance to heal and renew.

2. Use a moisturizer with jojoba and avocado (such as Joanna’s Daily Hydrating Cream).

Jojoba and avocado oils are natural ingredients that will keep your skin fully quenched, even in the driest atmospheres.

For a homemade moisturizing facial, combine half a cup of yogurt, half an avocado (mashed), and four tablespoons of honey in a bowl. Apply mixture directly onto a clean face and leave on for twenty minutes, then rinse.

3. Eat more avocados (and other good fats).

Including foods such as avocados, olive oil, and flaxseed in your diet will make your skin feel amazing, and help combat the effects of frigid air and dry heat from inside, out.

4. Shower in lukewarm water.

A gargantuan mistake many make is bathing in too-hot water, which can throw off the skin’s balance and cause the emergence of unsightly dry patches.

5. Exfoliate twice a week.

Exfoliating regularly will get rid of dull and grey skin, keeping your complexion smooth and bright. If you have incredibly sensitive skin, once a week will do!
