In Montauk Friday, July 31, Google Play Music closed out New York’s hottest month with an intimate sunset dinner at the Surf Lodge. A performance by James Murphy kept the beats up and the vibe pumping out on the East End.

Google Play Music’s mission is to play music that makes the things you do every day better. There’s no doubt in our summer East Enders’ minds that it certainly made that Friday night better.

Google Play has a soundtrack for whatever mood you’re in or activity you’re doing. This particular gathering brought together vacationers under the beautiful Hamptons’ sky, which is part of the reason most of them trek out to East End for the summer (to get back in touch with nature).

This night’s sky was literally sparkling blue from a blue moon. A rarity not just in the Hamptons but anywhere, and the next one won’t appear again until 2018. A blue night sky set the perfect backdrop for this dinner among friends and vacationers.

Among those in attendance were Jill Stuart, David Katz, Tommy Saleh, Danny DiMauro and Jenne Lombardo.
