Very easily considered one of the top trial lawyers in the city, if not the country, Weitz has made a name for himself with his decades of experience and incredible, high-profile cases. Specializing in civil law, trial practice, medical malpractice, and product liability, Weitz has seen over 100 cases result in verdicts of over $1 million. A member of a number of associations in the States and Internationally, he currently presides as President of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and of the New York State Chapter of American Board of Trial Advocates, as well as acting Dean of New York State Trial Lawyers Institute. Aside from his practical duties, Weitz has also authored and co-authored several books, articles and periodicals.
A true New Yorker, Weitz grew up in the Midwood area of Brooklyn and was raised in a humble, working-class family. After attending Brooklyn College he received his Juris Doctor from the Brooklyn Law School where he now teaches as a professor of Trial Advocacy. In 2004, Weitz left his high-profile firm to start up his own practice with his two sons Peter and Andrew.
