HBO premiere’s ‘The Leftovers’

Monday night at the NYU Skirball Center, HBO hosted the premiere for its new series The Leftovers. The series is based on the bestselling novel by Tom Perrotta. It was created by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof and Perotta. The executive producers are Lindelof, Perotta and the Friday Night Lights executive producers Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey.

Justin Theroux plays chief of police Kevin Garney in this series. His character is a father of two in a small New York suburb who tries to maintain a feeling of normalcy in a world where a portion of the population has abruptly disappeared.

Some of Theroux’s co-stars include Liv Tyler, Amy Brenneman, Chris Eccleston, Chris Zylka and Emily Meade. All of whom were present at the premiere.

Other important guests in attendance included Lindelof, Perotta, HBO CEO and chairman Richard Plepler, actress and Theroux’s fiancée Jennifer Aniston, Kim Cattrall, Michael Lombardi, and Max Richter.
