Holiday House Celebrates Opening Night

Thursday, November 16, 2017

Christmas may still be more than a month away, but the holiday season has just begun. Tuesday saw the unveiling of this year’s edition of Holiday House. As AVENUE’s Wendy Sy put it earlier this month, “For the past decade, Holiday House has been known as the ultimate showcase of unique interiors curated by top designers.” Proceeds from the House go to help fight breast cancer. Holiday House Founder Iris Dankner, herself a breast cancer survivor, said in a statement, “It has always been a dream of mine to help eradicate this disease that impacts more than 250,000 women and 2,000 men in the U.S.who are diagnosed each year. This year, we are thrilled to have launched the inaugural Holiday House London to further extend our reach and we are thankful for the support from all of our sponsors who make Holiday House possible.”

Tuesday’s gala celebrating the House’s tenth anniversary was held at the Academy Mansion—where the showcase is held—and featured a performance by designer and singer Anna Maria Mannarino and her band in the mansion’s courtyard, as well as holiday-themed cocktails and Kim Crawford wine. Not a bad way to spend an evening!

Attendees included Design Chair Thom Filicia, Honorary Chair Christopher Hyland and ASID Chairs Bjorn Bjornsson and Kim Radovich, along with Maurice DuBois, Juan Montoya, Campion Platt, Kate Rumson, Liz Nightingale, Roric Tobin, Geoffrey Bradfield, Dan Calkins, Daniel Lombardi, Lucretia Gilbert,  Rebecca Wasserman, Tom Krizmanic, Martin Kesselman, Suzy Slesin, Kendell Cronstrom and Barbara Dixon. Holiday House will be open through December 6th.
