HSS Hosts Annual Tribute Dinner

On Monday, June 6 Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) hosted the 33rd Annual Tribute Dinner in honor of senior advisor of American Express, Aldo PaponeChitranjan Ranawat, MD, orthopedic surgeon at HSS, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. The event raised a total of $3.3 million for education, research and patient care at HSS.


The evening’s events took place at the Waldorf-Astoria, with NBC News senior correspondent Tom Brokaw hosting. Notable medical staff, celebrities and athletes attended, including Ronnie Barnes, head athletic trainer of the New York Giants; Senator Bill BradleyKenneth Chenault, CEO and chairman of American Express; Kenneth Handal, former assistant U.S. attorney of New York; Craig Ivey, president of ConEd; The Honorable Shirley Werner Kornreich of the New York County Supreme Court; Arthur and Marilyn Levitt, former Chairman of SEC; Dean O’Hare, former chairman and CEO of The Chubb Corporation; Jonathan Sobel, CEO of Foursquare Capital; The Honorable Joyce Sparrow; Fred Wilpon, owner of the New York Mets; Kendrick R. Wilson III, vice chairman of BlackRock; and Ellen and Joe Wright, former director of U.S. office of Management and Budget.


Ellen Wright served as Benefit Chair alongside Vice-Chairs Kathryn C. Chenault and Alan S. MacDonald. Sandra Kozlowski was the Dinner Committee Chair.
