Whether you’re a diamond shopper or a window shopper, know this: the iconic jewelry house that is Harry Winston has temporarily relocated one block south, as it undergoes a historic renovation. 

The new space—located at 701 Fifth Avenue, right next to the St. Regis—showcases an extraordinary selection of Harry Winston jewels throughout its 5,467 square feet. The interior of the salon evokes the intimacy of a private estate with the house’s signature grey color palette, custom-designed black lacquer, antique bronze furniture and bespoke chandeliers. 

Upon walking up to the second floor, you’ll find framed sketches of bold necklaces as well as black-and-white photographs of some of the greats who have worn them. In addition, there is a bridal room filled with engagement and wedding rings. 

Harry Winston’s flagship salon at 718 Fifth Avenue has been open for 57 years. Currently, on the side of the building are gold colored inscriptions of the major cities it operates in: New York, Beverly Hills, Paris, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Dubai and Moscow.  

It is anticipated to reopen in 2018. Until then, we’ll have to settle on wondering, if the temporary space is this grand, what will the new flagship salon look like?
