It may be over 80 degrees outside, but right now the fashion world is celebrating all-things merino.

The American regional winners of the International Woolmark Prize were announced last night, July 21, at Milk Studios.

The Woolmark Company rewards designers for pioneering use of wool, and last night’s offerings were no exception.

Ten semi-finalists- five for womanswear and five for menswear- showcased their unique designs, from bold jackets and accessories, to ponchos and oversized knitwear.

The winners were Tanya Taylor and Siki Im, who were each awarded a cash prize of $37,110 and the chance to face other regional winners for the grand finale.

The Woolmark prize remains a very coveted accolade, with previous winners including Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld.
