Fashion designer darling Azzedine Alaia, beloved by supermodels, style mavens, movie stars and Madonna, has nothing nice to say about Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour nor fellow designer Karl Lagerfeld. The Paris-based, 71-year-old Tunisian Alaia told online magazine Virgine of Lagerfeld: “I don’t like his fashion, his spirit, his attitude. It’s too much caricature. Karl Lagerfeld never touched a piece of scissors in his life.” We don’t expect to see Alaia and Lagerfeld sharing a table at Karl’s haunt Cafe de Flore anytime soon.

Outspoken Alaia also shredded up Wintour like a bad fabric sample, saying: “She runs the business very well, but not the fashion part. When I see how she is dressed, I don’t believe in her tastes for one second. Anyway, who will remember Anna Wintour in the history of fashion? No One.” Ouch!

So far Chanel has not released a response and Vogue had no comment to the media.

The fashion wars have begun. And The AVENUEinsider’s favorite stylish illustrator aleXsandro palombo of the hilarious blog “Humor Chic” has drawn out his take on the Alaia Vs. Wintour battle.
