Jason Wu has come a long way from his designs for dolls. Though, not if you count those dolls he made for RuPaul–who he has worked with extensively. Wu, who is a graduate of Parsons The New School for Design, initially learned to design and sew from working on dolls as a child. His first women’s wear collection debuted in 2006 and he received a Rising Star award in 2008. Many women are fans of Wu’s work, January Jones and Ivanka Trump included, but none as much as Michelle Obama, who has been deemed by some his “career launcher.” The first lady has worn his designs all over the place including his personalized creation for the inaugural ball. Wu just announced that he’ll be the next designer to do a line for Target. Let’s hope it’s easier to get than the Missoni collection was
