The youthful senior vice president of Icahn Capital keeps his profile low and out of the press, which isn’t easy when you are Carl Icahn’s right-hand deal-maker and just happen to be the brother of Nicky Hilton’s husband-for-a-minute, Todd. Keith Meister’s star keeps on rising in its own right; he sits on Motorola’s board and manages Icahn’s $3 billion-fund. According to Fortune, his $3 million compensation made him one of the 10 best-paid people under 40. In addition to being the Ichan man, Meister also is Principal Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board of American Property Investors Inc. and senior investment analyst of High River Limited Partnership, both companies which have ties to Icahn Capital, making Meister the ultimate it man. The Harvard-educated son of a high-ranking Aon executive worked as an analyst at Lazard and then at private equity’s Northstar Capital before stepping onto the Icahn doorstep. Meister, licensed by the New Jersey State Casino Control Commission and the Nevada State Gaming Control Commission, serves on the Boards of Directors of American Railcar Industries, WestPoint International, Inc., XO Holdings, Inc., BFK Capital Group, Inc., a NYSE listed investment management firm, and ADVENTRX Pharmaceuticals, Inc., an AMEX listed biopharmaceuticals company, making this shy and humble business a go-getter.
