The nation’s design industry elite came to Cipriani 42nd Street Monday night for the annual Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club President’s Dinner, which raised $1 million to fund  afterschool programs for the 10,000 children the Bronx Club supports.

Bunny Williams presented longtime friend and famed interior designer David Easton with the event’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Williams revealed that she and Easton started their careers together at the renowned Parish-Hadley Associates in 1966 and that she “had an affair with David Easton… well at least in my dreams.”

The gala also honored New York City’s interior design education institutions including FIT, NYSID, Parsons, Pratt, and SVA. Members of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, whose alum counts Jennifer Lopez and Kerry Washington, got the crowd on their feet with performances from Hamilton and a song and dance tribute to Puerto Rico. Guests included Dinner Chairs Bunny Williams and Jamie Drake, Board of Trustees President Jim Druckman, Alexa Hampton, Mara Miller, Jesse Carrier, Dan Calkins, Christopher Spitzmiller, Kathryn Prounis, Laura Kohler, Hamish Bowles, Amy Astley, Mariette Himes Gomez, Celerie Kemble, Mark Sikes, Charles Pavarini, Chad Stark, Bjorn Wallander, David Phoenix, Lisa Cohen and Erika Bearman.

The event is a prelude to the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, which opens to the public on May 1st at 110 East 76th Street. The internationally recognized Show House features the country’s premier interior decorators and architects.
